Costa Teguise – Weather, Beach and Hotels
Costa Teguise is the northernmost tourist center of Lanzarote and is located about 5 kilometers above the capital Arrecife. It was already decided in 1970 to develop this place as a holiday metropolis. At that time, the canary artist and architect César Manrique was involved intensively in the planning and realization. This is why a holiday resort has been created without concrete bunkers and high-rise buildings, with hotels and apartment complexes that instead preserve the traditional Canarian architecture. The streetscape of Costa Teguise is therefore characterized almost exclusively by two- to a maximum of three-story buildings; these have a flat roof and the island-typical green window frames. The various structures are separated by green areas, parks and numerous palm trees.
The dreamlike beaches of the resort are undoubtedly one of its most beautiful sights. But Costa Teguise also has a lot more to offer. A golf club and the water park “Aquapark” are, for example, in the immediate vicinity. And in addition, you can quickly reach the most interesting sights of the island in no time via the local expressways. For this reason, Costa Teguise is also the central starting point for various organized excursions. As a result, there are countless opportunities available for active holidaymakers to make their stay great. Read this article to find out what makes Costa Teguise so popular, all the things to do there and what you should definitely see.
