The Port of Puerto Calero

The initiative to build the port came from a certain gentleman named José Calero. And the port and the town now owe his name to this man. When construction began in 1986, it was the first marina of this type built on the island. It has been continuously expanded and modernized since its completion. Today over 420 boats and yachts with a length of up to 75 meters can moor here which also gives access to super luxury yachts. The port of Puerto Calero is one of the most modern sports boat harbors in Spain and even around the world. Ship owners will find everything they need here to the highest standards: floating jetties with supply points for electricity, internet and drinking water, a 100 ton travelift with dry deck, a gas station and even their own weather service.
Several bars and restaurants have established themselves around the piers. You will also find different shops at the harbor. For those who like the chic harbor ambience, there are accommodations available here, including some very luxurious ones. When staying here you can start every day with a great view of the harbor and end it while listening to the calming lapping of the waves in the harbor basin.

There are no clubs in Puerto Calero. If you want to go partying in the evening, you have to go to the neighboring Puerto del Carmen. The evening entertainment possibilities in Puerto Calero are limited to a few bars and restaurants on the port area. Here you can sit back and relax on the terraces and watch the hustle and bustle. If you fancy delicious cocktails in an exotic atmosphere, the best place to go to is the Buga Bar. After all, here it is possible to experience something similar to nightlife at least until 3 a.m.

Concerning the weather forecast you can expect pleasant temperatures throughout the year in Puerto Calero. In the summer half of the year, the temperature scale averages between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius. A breeze is always carried in from the sea, so that higher temperatures remain bearable. In the winter months, the thermometer does not very often fall below 23 degrees during the day. Every now and then a few clouds gather over the place, but they rarely bring rain. In the evening you may have to put on a jacket because the breeze gets a little cooler after sunset. The weather in Puerto Calero guarantees you a great sun holiday regardless of the season.
The Beaches of Puerto Calero

As beautiful as the holiday location may be, unfortunately there is no beach available in Puerto Calero. To go swimming you can either travel a little south to the Playa Quemada or got to the beaches of Puerto del Carmen.
